The Commissioners of the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) met with the States of Alderney on Tuesday May 27th to present their 2024 Annual Report and to update the States members on a past year of progress that had been capped by an outstanding outcome in 2024's Council of Europe Moneyval evaluation of the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

Poor weather necessitated an online meeting in place of the traditional face to face visit, but Lord Faulkner of Worcester, Chairman of the AGCC, thanked the States of Alderney for all their help in passing updates to regulations in e- gambling last year which greatly assisted in the positive Moneyval outcome for the Bailiwick.

Lord Faulkner noted that the jurisdiction is extremely well placed to continue its top-tier supervision ensuring the provision of platforms and services from an Alderney base to worldwide markets.

The AGCC confirmed its forecast of a financial distribution to the States again this year of in excess of £2m, and Lord Faulkner noted that the successful Bailiwick-first hiring policy of the AGCC had allowed the agency to restore its staffing levels through 2024 and 2025 and maintain the highest standards of regulatory supervision, sustaining the considerable economic benefits of e-gambling to both Alderney and Guernsey.

Since its foundation 25 years ago the AGCC has made distributions to the States of Alderney of more than £42m.
